What is Tropical -Medical Insurance Plan
This is medical insurance cover for all customers of tropical bank ltd ie individuals and companies.
The plan allows our customers to over 350 hospitals and clinics across Uganda. These include AAR health care clinics and other partner services provided within the network.
What benefits are covered under the plan?
The plan offers both impatient and outpatient benefit treatments that don’t require an overnight stay and these include all consultations, medications, scans, X-rays, treatments, surgeries and many more.

Who is eligible for the plan
Any individual between the age of 1- 65 years.
Are there any waiting periods under the plan?
Waiting period refers to a specified period during which you are not eligible for medical insurance coverage for certain benefits or services.

- What are the exclusions under the plan?
- Treatment for injuries arising out of voluntary participation in riots, unrest and civil wars.
- Travel expenses other than emergency ambulance costs.
- Expenses related to self- inflicted injury, attempted suicide or suicide.
- Domestic and biochemical remedies.
- All costs arising out of injuries sustained whilst participating in professional sports.
- Cosmetic procedures such as bat ears blepharoplasty
- Nutrition food supplements
- Fertility and impotence treatment
- Alternative treatment such as chiropractors, herbal treatment and acupuncture treatment.
- War, Riot and civil commotion.
- Political violence, terrorism and sabotage.
- How do I access the cover under the plan?
- One can apply as an individual or a company or a group or a family.
- The customer fills an application form at the respective branch.
- Attach national ID
- Pays the insurance premium
- The document shall be sent for underwriting.
- For each approved application, the customer shall be given a medical card to enable access medical services.
